Nissan Motors Plant- Sunderland: The six-turbine facility is the first wind farm within the global Nissan group and will generate 4 Megawatts a year - around 5% of the factory’s annual electricity requirement.

Nissan Motor Co.'s Sunderland plant in the UK will start the installation of two additional wind turbines in December 2007, bringing the total number of turbines on the site to eight. Expected to be fully operational in January 2008, the expanded farm will generate around 6% of the plant's annual energy requirement, cutting costs by nearly £1 million a year. Carbon dioxide emissions will also be cut by up to 4,000 tonnes per year at power plants supplying the factory with electricity.
